In Present Tense, each piece in this abstract grid serves as a timestamp of my current world, a visual diary that explores the duality of striving to be present while wrestling with an underlying tension. The series title plays on the words themselves—a state of now, but one marked by an uneasy edge. These works embody fleeting moments, capturing beauty and serenity amidst an undercurrent of darkness, much like trying to find clarity within a storm.
As I navigate a world that feels increasingly fragmented, each painting reflects my effort to root myself in the present, even as I remain aware of the unpredictability around me. These pieces are windows into moments where light meets shadow, hope meets uncertainty, and stillness meets unease. By setting these “diary entries” within a structured grid, I seek to find balance—a framework for connection and understanding, even if only for a moment.

“When the weight of daily life can start to overwhelm, I have always turned to painting as a sanctuary. It’s the one thing that has provided me a means of coping by providing a place of safe harbor and tranquility. It’s here where I can express my thoughts more easily through color, mark and shape than with any other medium.
My latest series “Here and Now,” represents a further step in this ongoing journey of being present, seeking solace, and finding inner stillness. Creating these pieces isn’t about chasing trends or crafting something grandiose – it’s about healing and the simple joy of making something beautiful. With each stroke and color choice driven by curiosity, it’s my intention to find peace through the act of creation.”

Elementum Series
Elementum: a series inspired by the openness of the desert and all that it offers. The paintings are minimal and spontaneous. They are quite fluid with a balance of both rigid and gentle marks that convey an overall sense of deep ease.
